New Landscape Architecture Undergrads

Welcome, Landscape Architecture Undergrads!

You’ve been admitted to the Landscape Architecture program, but you may be asking yourself, “now what?” There’s still a few steps to go through before it’s all official and we are here to help guide you through it all.

Go through each step in the following checklist below and make sure to complete each action item!

Step 1: (Due May 1st)

Tell the University of Oregon

  • If you are ready to join the flock, confirm your intent to register by following the instructions on the Admissions website
  • Please note that deferring your admission offer doesn’t mean you will be guaranteed a spot in the Architecture program next year
  • This process includes paying an advanced tuition deposit of $200 to reserve your spot in the incoming class
Step 2: (Due May 1st)

Tell the School of Architecture & Environment

Step 3: (Beginning April)

Claim your Duck ID

  • Your Duck ID does many things including giving you access to your UO E-mail, course information, academic advising team, etc.
  • Don’t get this confused with your UO ID which is a number that starts with 95!
  • You will need both your UO ID number and Personal Access Code (PAC) in order to claim your Duck ID
Step 4: (Due ASAP)

Submit all your Documents

  • Make sure to send all documents to the University of Oregon
  • Documents can include the following:
    • Official high school transcripts with final grades and graduation reported
    • Official college transcripts with all final grades
    • Official test scores
      • SAT/ACT are not required for admissions purposes, but if you plan on submitting them anyway, they need to be official copies
      • International students need to show documented English proficiency and can do so through many means
Step 5: (Due ASAP)

Submit your Vaccination Records

  • All students must submit vaccination records for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) as well as the COVID-19 vaccines to register for courses
  • The University Health Services website documents how to upload vaccination records
  • Additional vaccinations are highly recommended for students and guidance can be found on students’ myUOHealth portal
Step 6: (Registration begins May 2nd)

Attend IntroDUCKtion

  • IntroDUCKtion, the University of Oregon’s orientation program, will gear you with information about campus and what it means to be a duck
  • As part of IntroDUCKtion, students will meet with an advisor from the College of Design Student Services team to help you understand the curriculum and get good student tips
  • All students will need to attend some form of IntroDUCKtion in order to register for classes

Hardware and Software Requirements:

The department requires all students to have unlimited access to their own personal computers. Because of the professional application of complex graphic programs and large data files for most coursework, the department’s computer requirements exceed the average user’s computing needs. See the Student Computer Purchasing Guide on the College of Design Technology Services blog for recommended specifications and departmental requirements.

Studio Supply List:

In addition to hardware and software, studios require hand media drafting, drawing, and model-making tools. The department has put together a list of recommended supplies as you prepare for your upcoming studios.
